THE UNIVERSITY OF BUCHAREST has as its main objective the strengthening of its position in the top of the institutions of higher education from Romania as well as in the international academic community by means of quality services, sobriety, efficiency and performance, loyalty to students and responsibility to society.
The conduct of this policy is based on the creation, implementation, certification and maintenance of a quality mamagement system SR EN ISO 9001:2001 which could lead to the achievement of the following desiderata:
- To attain and maintain the trust of our students, of ARACIS, of the Ministry of Education and Innovation, of the Romanian and international academic and scientific community by continuously improving the quality of our services.
- To prepare the students so as to make them able to critically examine the social and natural phenomena, to look for solutions to the problems they are faced with, to imagine alternatives to the proposed solutions, to become young people ready to accept the views on the world of other cultures and to take on a role of future leaders of Romania.
- To conduct activities for the European integration of our country, for the consolidation of the European Area of Higher Education and the European Research Area, the University of Bucharest being part of the avant-garde in the reformation of higher education.
- To improve the quality of the learning and teaching processes by constantly reflecting on the educational activities, by permanent research efforts, by means of the solidarity of the members of the teaching staff and of the students in search for creative solutions in order to develop a student-oriented educational system.
- To continuously enhance the performances of the organization management by integrating the responsibilities regarding the assurance of quality in education according to the legal requirements and those of the SR EN ISO 9001:2001 standard.
- To ensure an effective management, oriented towards responsibility, transparency and efficiency by the informatization of the services, of the academic administration, and by implementig the concept of intelligent organization.
- To apply a systemic communication plan which aims at improving the dialogue with the students, the members of the teaching staff, the employers, the alumni and the other interested groups from the community. The goal is to promote the image of each component and to create institutional coherence.
- To perfect training in the field of comunication skills and to adjust the activites of learning and teaching to the transformations of the contemporary world.
- To improve the professional training and the quality standards of the entire staff, the increase in responsibility being a constant preocupation of the organization.
For the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the quality management system (QMS), we have appointed a Management Representative in the field of quality (MRQ), at the level of administrative departments, and we have established Commissions for Quality Assessment and Assurance (CQAA) at the level of the faculties and the University of Bucharest.
Each employee of the University of Bucharest must be fully aware of the importance of the quality of the activities conducted in our institution in relation to our students and other beneficiaries.
In my capacity as Rector of the University of Bucharest I take full responsibility for the assurance of material and human resources necessary for the achievement of these desiderata.
