Animal Histology and Embryology

 

The course analyzes basic processes involved in early vertebrate development and structures of cells, tissue and organs in relation to their functions. Specific topics include:

  • Embryonic development in bony fishes 
  • Embryonic development in frog
  • Embryonic development in birds
  • Embryonic development in mammals and human
  • Epithelial tissue
  • Connective tissue: embryonic connective tissue; connective tissue proper (loose connective tissue, dense connective tissue, elastic connective tissue, reticular connective tissue); special connective tissues (adipose tissue, cartilage, bone, blood and hemopoietic tissue), 
  • Nervous tissue 
  • Muscle tissue (skeletal, cardiac, smooth)
