The main objective of this School is to provide young university faculty
from the Newly Independent States with theory, practice-oriented materials
and innovative strategies and techniques of teaching Environmental Studies.
In addition to discussing the environmental problems common to the region,
ways of promoting awareness of these issues, and means of incorporating these
studies in university curricula, the School will contribute to building a
network of academics and professionals in environmental studies and policy
in the NIS. An international team will teach advanced courses on Society
and Environment; Management of the Environment and Economy; Environmental
Law and Policy; Development of Environmental Education.
