This School addresses one of the most topical
issues in the study of transition economies – areas, functions and strategies
of government regulation and the correlation of government regulation with
the processes of open economy. It attempts to consolidate the experience
of prominent academics from the region and Western Europe who focus their
teaching and policy-oriented research on the issues of interaction between
the interests and needs of the society, the state and the market. The School
aims to develop and provide the participants with a broad coherent and analytical
framework for understanding the issues of government regulation of the economy,
and increasing the participants’ understanding of the monetary and Keinesian
approaches to monetary and credit regulation, and business regulation system.
Equal focus is given to improving the professional skills of the young faculty
participants and providing them with new methods and strategies for teaching
in this important developing discipline.
