The School aims to discuss basic and specialized curricula that study different strategies of development of post-communist countries and the consequent social changes, and to contribute to the development and upgrading the academic courses addressing these issues. The School offers courses on the most topical issues of social development, taught by a team of prominent social scientists from the West and the NIS: Health as a Social Value, Social Inequalities, Deviant Behavior in the Post-Soviet Space as a Subject of Sociological Analysis. The School is designed as a continuation of a series of International Summer Schools (1997-2001) organized by the School of Sociology of Kharkiv National University and the East Ukrainian Foundation for Social Research.
