Emphasis is on curriculum development and intensive workshops on developing courses and programs that respond better to the individual needs of each country and institution. Part two focuses on specific areas of journalism practices. It aims to improve the instructors' skills in teaching alternative models of Civic and Development Journalism, as well as political reporting, essential for the democratic development of Central Asian countries.
