The School focuses on the
issue of the general cultural concept of medieval Europe and the common characteristics
of the artistic creation of its population. Offering a more global picture
on the broader cultural contacts of the different European nations, united
in the universal values of artistic creation, it should give an in-depth
insight into the roots of the common medieval culture, as a base for contemporary
cultural integration of the European continent. The courses offered to young
faculty teachers and Ph.D. candidates from the field of Art History encompass
the development of medieval artistic creation of the Byzantine Commonwealth,
Western Europe and the Balkan region.
