The department has 16 positions of which 14 are occupied. There are a further two consultant professor positions, occupied at present by Professor Ion IANOŞI and Professor Alexandru BODOC.
It should be mentioned that Professor Alexandru SURDU and Professor Gheorghe VLĂDUŢESCU are full members of the Romanian Academy, while Professor Alexandru BODOC is a corresondent member.
Academic concerns: metaphysics, history of philosophy, ethics, aesthetics, philosophy of moral values, history of culture, intellectual history, hermeneutics, history and philosophy of religions, history and philosophy of art.
