The members of this very young department include some of the founders of modern journalism studies in post-Communist Romania. The teaching staff have had scholarships to leading universities in the United States, France, Belgium, Canada and Britain. They have wide experience in the press, and active in scholarly work at home and abroad. Many of them are graduates of the first degree and master's degree programmes of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Studies, and are completing doctoral theses in the field. In addition, the Department organises numerous practical seminars held by well-known journalists, in the role of associate members.
