The themes included in the present and future research plan of this department are varied, concerning different aspects of literary theory.
The entire staff of the Department of Literary Theory are graduates of the University of Bucharest. The department has eight members: one professor, three readers, two lecturers and two assistant lecturers.
Cinci dintre cadrele didactice cu norma de bază în această catedră dețin titlul științific de doctor. Cei doi asistenți s-au înscris la doctorat în 1990, respectiv 1993; domeniul în care aceștia se specializează este teoria literaturii.
