This is a department with a long tradition and illustrious forebears. At present, a considerable part of its activity is directed towards recovering and rewriting important periods in our national history. Grants obtained from the World Bank (Romania in the 20th century, Professor Ioan SCURTU) have made an essential contribution to the attainment of these objectives.
