Since its beginnings, almost a century ago, this department has been equally concerned the teaching of Italian language and literature. Courses of Italian civilisation have also always been taught, and now benefit from access to a video-laboratory, CD-ROMs etc. The teaching staff always include at least one lecturer from Italy. The department aims not only to help students acquire good language skills in Italian, but also to train future specialists in Italian language and literature, literary history, textual analysis etc.
Grace to the constant care and preoccupation of the teaching staff, the library of the department has renewed and enriched its stock, which reflects itself in the excellent training level of its students and graduates.
