The department has specialists in Biblical studies and in the domain of painting and patrimony. Disciplines taught by members of the department include Old Testament, New Testament, Biblical exegesis and hermeneutics and Hebrew.

The Biblical scholars in this department have studied both in Romania and abroad, in Greece and Israel, and they include some of the leading specialists in the field in Romania. Their notable publications include the series of translations in the Church Fathers and Writers Collection.

The teaching staff in the field of painting and cultural heritage are also well-known specialists in Romania and abroad.
