Department of Mathematics

The team of mathematicians in the Faculty of Physics includes specialists with important achievements in mathematical research. Their research activity has been presented in numerous publications in Romania and abroad. Their main research interests are orientated towards fundamental problems of mathematics which occur in physics and information technology. Fields in which the members of the department have obtained significant results include: the theory of groups representation, the factorisation of polynominals, formal calculus and polynominal geometry, differential geometry, chain geometry, history of mathematics, disparity theory, partial derived equations, mathematical physics, applications of alleatory processes in fluid mechanics, macro-transport processes. Members of the department frequently participate in international conferences in Romania or abroad, and they are invited to lecture at leading universities throughout the world.
