The Faculty of Roman Catholic Theology and Social Assistance prepares teachers of religious education for secondary schools, researchers in theology and social assistants.
The syllabus is based on the requirements of teacher training, combining theological and pedagogical disciplines.
The teaching of a variety of theoretical and applied social disciplines-psychology, sociology, social psychology, human development, social work theory and method etc. is complemented by practical placements which ensures the development of skills in the techniques of social work and in applying human and Christian values to the needs of disadvantaged people.
Some of the faculty's graduates go on to work in jobs which require a comprehensive general education and possibilities of expression specific to Christian life (Christian media, travel agencies for pilgrims) that require comprehensive general training in religious issues and very specific expression possibilities.
Others go on to work in a wide range of social work contexts: Catholic parishes, penitentiaries, old people's and children's homes, governmental and non-governmental institutions with social work responsibilities, etc.
