Leonardo da Vinci

Official web site of the Romanian Leonardo da Vinci National Agency

The Leonardo da Vinci Programme was initiated and launched by the European Union in 1994, as a Community programme of transnational co-operation in the training of the work force.

Romania has been taking part in the "Leonardo da Vinci" Programme as a full status member starting September 1st, 1997. The Romanian Ministry of Education, Research and Youth is in charge of the programme at national level, while the programme co-ordination has been assigned to the National Agency Leonardo da Vinci.

The programme focuses on increasing quality, boosting the innovative edge and the European dimension in training systems and practices. It promotes a Europe of knowledge by creating a European space of co-operation in the field of education and vocational training. Leonardo da Vinci supports the policy of participating states with respect to lifelong learning and the development of skills and competencies underpinning professional integration.
