Lector dr. Corina Ana Crisu

Corina Crisu, PhD – a Lecturer at the University of Bucharest and a recipient of prestigious grants (a Soros-Chevening Scholarship and a Fulbright Fellowship) – does cutting edge research in the fields of Comparative Literature and American Studies, focusing on transnational constructions of Eastern European immigrant identity, in the works of Eastern European and Western authors.

 

She has participated in many international conferences and joint projects, and she has published a book and numerous articles; her most recent publications include: “British Geographies in the Eastern European Mind: Rose Tremain’s The Road Home,” in Facing the East in the West, ed. Barbara Korte (Rodopi, 2010), “Bosnian Ways of Being American: Hemon’s Nowhere Man,” in When the World Turned Upside-Down: Cultural Representations of Post-1989 Eastern Europe, Ed. Kathleen Stark (Cambridge Scholars Press, 2009).

 

She is also a poet and has contributed to literary journals and anthologies worldwide; her English and Romanian poems have been collected in two bilingual volumes.
